Operated by post or over the telephone, this account can be opened and run from the comfort of your own home. Not only does this save you time but it cuts down on our administration costs, a saving which we can then pass on to you via our highly competitive interest rates.

Of course, should those interest rates change, we promise to write and advise you of any change.

The Direct Silver Savings Account is open to all Republic of Ireland residents aged 50 years or over. It can be opened by individuals or jointly between up to four people (all account holders must be over 50 years of age).

1. DIRT will automatically be deducted at the standard rate (currently 25%) from interest paid/credited to your account, unless you are eligible and have registered to receive interest gross by completing a DIRT Exemption Declaration for each account you hold.

2. AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and added to the capital balance each year.
